A wide range of rugs are produced in India. They are famous for the rugs they create and sell. Among the different types of Indian rugs, the silk and woollen rugs reign the world more than the cotton rugs.

Earlier in India the designs for rugs were adopted from Persia. It was only later various designs from other countries such as China, Turkey, Morocco, Afghanistan and France were introduced.

After that the craftsmen started to produce their own kinds of work which gained importance in the long run. These designs were introduced only after the pile industry came into being.

Woolen rugs are usually used widely and different stuffs of them are used. Kashmir is known for a special kind of art which is the hand knotted Indian rugs.

For fine quality, Kashmiri rugs are used whereas for medium quality Indian carpets, best grades of Indian wool are used.

For superior quality Indian rugs, imported wool blended with Indian high-grade wool is used.Other Indian rugs which were widely used are the piled Indian rugs.

It was in the Mughal period, these piled carpets came into being. Indian craftsmen are very famous for their quality works and.These Indian rugs are available in different rates that enable every individual to own one.
