In the earlier time, the most commonly used fiber for the carpet making industry was cotton, jute and wool. But in today’s fast pace world, a lot of things are used for making carpets.

One such material is nylon which has conquered almost more than half of the carpet industry! It is estimated that almost half of the carpet industry is dominated by the nylon carpets.

They have arisen as a tough competition for the other carpets which are much more expensive than nylon carpets. Nylon is a polyamide polymer which has outstanding buoyancy along with its other specifications such as mildew resistance, abrasion resistance and even excellent colour retention.

Nylon carpets are either acid dyed or solution dyed. Two types of nylons are available which are namely Type 6 and Type 6,6. Earlier original nylon carpets were made which were round in appearance.

It also brought about a lens effect thus magnifying the soil. The nylon carpets are preferred over the ordinary ones as they are cheaply available outside along with their wonderful effects which is dust resistance, holding capacity, colours and shades are available.

The nylon carpets have an outstanding feature that they are moisture resistant and they are very easy to clean and they are highly durable carpets.Nylon carpets are stain resistant and also are very soft unlike other carpets.

Spilling things like coffee or even tea on these nylon carpets do not cause much damage to it as it spills the stain out thus making it easier to clean. A major drawback associated with nylon carpets are that acid based foods could cause a lot of damage to it and even stains it harshly.

Drinks like coffee, tea and other things like ketchup, mustard etc along with vinegar stains the nylon carpets which might be very difficult to remove or sometimes does not remove.
