Synthetic Rug

Synthetic rugs are those which are usually chosen by common people. They are preferred for varying reasons. The synthetic rugs are actually synthetic hand knotted rugs which also has a silky appearance. They have the same values as that of silk rugs and they also represent the same values.

The synthetic rugs are seen with fine knots which might be even upto 250 or more knots which are present per square inch. Synthetic rugs are made usually in Srinagar, Agra and Gwalior.

Synthetic rugs are made out of six different types of synthetic yarns which include nylon, olefin, polyester, acrylic etc. Out of these nylon is the choice of most of the people.

It is tremendously very easy to work with as they are easy to maintain by cleaning and even they have a tremendous performance rate.The nylon synthetic rugs are available almost all bright colours and they could handle soil and traffic at the same time.

They could be dyed in two ways, either acid dyed or chemical dyed!Polypropylene is also called olefin and is commonly known in Berbers and level loops. They are mildew, stain and mold resistant.

They could be used either as indoor or even outdoor rugs. They have much lesser resistance to crushing and matting when compared to nylon fiber.

Polyester is not as durable as nylon, but it offers a lot of colours and designs and has a soft feel for the rugs. They are not to be used in high traffic areas. The acrylic synthetic rugs have a real wool appearance. They are used where richness and royalty is to be felt.

These rugs are not used nowadays due to two reasons which are that it has a tendency for pile reversal and they tend to burn quickly too.
