The word ‘diamond’ comes from Greek adamas meaning invincible. In ancient India diamonds stood for religious icons. There is no harder material on earth than the diamond.

Then there are the Agra Diamond, the Amsterdam Diamond that fetched $352,000 in 2001, the Chloe Diamond – the biggest cut white diamond to appear in an auction, the dark grayish blue cursed diamond known as the Hope Diamond, the Kohinoor of the Moghuls now adorning the British crown, the Pumpkin Diamond being the largest orange diamond and many more. The Great Star of Africa is the biggest rough diamond ever discovered, while the largest found in US is the Uncle Sam Diamond.
