As a sign of the evolving times, computer technology has muscled in on the making of saris. Designer sarees are produced at great lengths in a bid to make an antiquated ethnic wear fit for the contemporary era.

Only such vision confers new trends and styles. Most tellingly, the designer saree has consequently become a fusion of traditional patterns and modern styling.

Satya Paul, JJ Valaya, Renu Dadlani, Ragini Singhania and the rest of India’s designing ilk have always been reinventing the saree. 

Unheard of millennia ago, the sari, according to Satya Paul at least, may now have Swarovski crystals for embellishments in the stead of the good old zari.
