The objects which are not fixed, and serve as foundation for human beings, stores or retain different kinds of things, all together constitute furniture. Doors, drawers, and shelves are some of the storage furniture in which household goods, clothes, books, tools and so on are stored.

The usage of furniture was there from the times of non-nomadic cultures. The paintings reveal the usage of furniture in the olden times. During the middle age, the materials used for the making of furniture were oak, and ornaments.
