Bridal Wear

Bridal wear includes not only the wedding dress, but also the accessories that the bride needs, and anything else that she might need to wear on the day itself, such as evening wear and night clothes.

Bridal wear for the whole day makes the bride stand out, and makes her feel special. Bridal wear accessories could include items such as special jewellery, garters, veils and shoes.

Some stores selling bridal wear items might include bridesmaid’s dresses. Other accessories such as handbags and flower arrangements could be bought for the bride by her friends and relatives.

In some families, the groom might buy his bride a special necklace for the occasion, in addition to the rings.

Bridal wear also includes a bride’s evening wear; a modern tradition which involves the bride changing out of her wedding dress, and returning in a simple outfit, not necessarily white.

This type of bridal dress usually consists of a matching jacket and trousers, all of them new. Sometimes this is also the bride’s ‘going away’ gear, but it does not have to be, and the evening bridal wear is an essential part of the reception.

Bridesmaids’ dresses are also a part of bridal wear, and many stores cater to matching bride and bridesmaids’ accessories and dresses.

Dresses which are designed to compliment the bride’s outfit are now a standard part of the wedding tradition, and bridal wear could also include matching sets of jewellery (to be worn on the day, or as bridesmaid’s presents after the ceremony).

Brides expect their big day to go smoothly, and arranging clothing and jewellery is an important part of that smooth running.

Families and friends can help with the costs of this by buying small accessories, or even just help the bride to choose her clothing and other items.
